Simon Neaverson is the founder of GovernRight and has been an advisor and consultant to boards, directors, CEOs and management teams for over 30 years in the private, government and not-for-profit sectors. He has advised more than 300 boards and executive teams on strategy, risk, governance and accountability in Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
For much of his career, Simon was a core facilitator with the Australian Institute of Company Directors in strategy, risk and corporate governance. GovernRight is the distillation of Simon’s significant real-life experience – decades of governance practice codified into an effective, outcomes-based system that any board can use.
Tracey Neaverson
Tracey combines qualifications in law and communications with deep experience in corporate governance and company secretarial practice, and heads up the operational and compliance functions that keep GovernRight running. An accredited GovernRight consultant and an affiliate of the Governance Institute of Australia, she brings practical, hands-on governance expertise to the team, from developing governance content and frameworks to structuring board packs that help directors oversee strategy and risk. In a company focused on simplifying and empowering oversight, Tracey is the glue that holds the team together, making sure the vision is executed well across the business.
John-Paul Costales
JP is a technology leader with more than 25 years across software engineering, product management and executive leadership in high-growth startups and scaleups. As Founder of Be Useful, he helps GovernRight take modern governance further, faster, through the practical application of AI and technology. He is also a company director, serving as a Non-Executive Director at Atwea College and at Advance Diversity Services, and holds the Governance Foundations for Not-for-Profit Directors qualification from the AICD. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours in Computer Engineering from Simon Fraser University.
Alastair Hood
Alastair is a seasoned businessman and company founder who has served as a director of private and public companies and on various government committees. He began his career as a lawyer and partner at Gilbert + Tobin specialising in corporate work, moved into investment banking with Macquarie Bank, and has since advised, invested in and founded a number of growth businesses. With deep experience in equity and debt raisings, ASX listings and commercialising technology across sectors including technology, resources and property, Alastair supports the GovernRight team to grow the business into a leading governance framework.
